"Fronted by Casey Stickley, Second Echo was conceived in Ohio in the late 1990s. The early years consisted of late night writing sessions in barn lofts, countless hours playing shows in any venue available, and a couple of unproduced albums. The obligatory growing pains for any young band inevitably appeared, but the music never wavered.
Second Echo recently signed with Spectra Music Group and Tabletop Records to release EVELUTION, a 12-track album demands your attention with excellent hooks, inspiring guitar solos, beautiful melodies, and even a hint of ivory. Weaving together elements of grunge, alternative, and good old fashioned rock n’ roll, EVELUTION is proud that each song has its own identity. That identity is also evident in lyrics that are memorable, powerful, and unapologetically honest. Second Echo has provided the very best they have to offer. No excuses. No Regrets."
Second Echo is one of those bands where they really should have far more recognition than they do. There is this smoldering heat within their music that you can’t help but be lit ablaze when you listen. A perfect example of this is their song, Chemical. The vocal style is very smooth but has a soft strength to it. The riffs of the guitar are the perfect edge you need, while the drums give the heartbeat to the song. I would consider this their anthem song merely because I can see so many people relating to it and really getting into the music along with the band. While I listen to this song I can picture a tortured soul walking through the rain until they are free from all the pain and heartache of those who have driven a knife into their heart and caused such confusion and unrest within that person. Then they understand and accept, they did not deserve such pain or to be betrayed. While you listen to this song, their music is the rain that is now cleansing you and setting you free from your prison.

Now if you are needing an empowering song that has high energy, don’t worry, they have that too with their song Innocent. A song that challenges the status quo but does it in a way where it’s more like a revelation but without as much shock factor and scandal. The breakdown is the perfect entry for almost like a “fight” style chant in the song. Throw in an acoustic style guitar with the vocals and your ears are taken on a whirlwind ride of emotions and sensations you had no idea you would get in just one song. After listening to this song, you really do want to grab your sword and take on the powers that be, to show them we are no longer going to listen to their propaganda. We want to take back our innocence and live in a world where nobody is victimized or strong armed into things they don’t want to do or say. I must say I am impressed with how this song can seem rather chaotic but it’s done in a way where it is beautiful chaos that you understand and want to be part of.
The entire album Evelution has such a diverse range of musical style and topics, it is intriguing as well as showing how in tune with their artistry they are. This is a great album to listen to when you are needing that solace of being understood in your darker emotions. Not saying they are “dark” because all of their songs have this underlying sense of hope but it’s more like they are saying, it’s ok to feel the way you do, because we understand, we have been there too. Then you can look at them and their artistry and know there is a light at the end of the tunnel, they will help guide you there. The song The End’s In Sight, is exactly what I mean. You don’t have to let those bad days or bad thoughts consume you, they do not define who you are. Everyone has moments like that, it’s what you do with that power after it happens that defines you. Let this song be your beacon of light, they are reaching out to you and helping you get back up.
Like I said in the beginning, after listening to their album a few times, I am surprised at how they are not taking over the musical world. Second Echo creates music that speaks to all hearts and fits every mood. As well as it showcases their talent as artists with the acoustic versions and you can hear their genuine passion for the music, and how they are turning all the negative into a source of strength and empowerment. Very well done and I can’t wait to hear more from these guys! Second Echo is currently performing at venues in Southern California and Las Vegas. Recent performances include The House of Blues in Anaheim, CA with over 150 fans in attendance. See their website for upcoming show dates and times.
